Hardware

The principles of PLCs are demonstrated in the tutorials that follow using a virtual learning environment that simulates the interaction of various PLC modules. The Siemens S5-100U CPU100 module (shown opposite) is a programmable controller for the lower and mid performance ranges. It is especially suited to small scale automation tasks, and is a cost effective replacement for five and above relay or contactor functions.
